Subject: 2" vs 1 1/2" hose................

Hi I am a newbie to posting on these forums (not reading) and a newb to carpet cleaning.

I have a Mytee 1003dx on the way to me.  It says it can do a 2" hose but I wanted to know the pros and cons for 2" vs 1/2" hose.

Will the 2" have more CFM or suck better than the 1 1/2"

I think I will have to use a "whip" because I have a rotovac and it looks like 1 1/2" not 2"

What are the advantages of using 2" and a whip over using ony 1 1/2"

Thanks alot guys - FISH

You wont notice alot of difference. A 2 vac machine will not use more than 50 cfms when the wand is on the carpet. 1.5" can handle that. So dont worry if you need to go down from 2".

Now when you get a machine with 3 or 4 vacs in it, then you want to use 2" hose as much as possible.............

You say only 50cfm but on their website it says "200 CFM"

Thats the most that a 2 vac machine can move UNDER LOAD.

All readings put out by manufacturers are measurered UNDER NO LOAD conditions.

Big difference.

So basically 2" or 1 1/2" hose makes ZERO difference on a machine with 2 vacs "under load".  There will be NO difference whatsoever because of the machine I will be using?  Thanks FISH

I taught Kenny everything he knows.  I just wish he could retain more.

Not only are vac specs based upon no-load conditions, they are also relative to sea level.
