Well this year is quickly coming to a close, how did you do this year?
Did you grow? Did you add a long list of new customers? Did you retain all or at least most of your repeat customers? What did you do different this year? What will you do different next year?

Slow? No, I don't think so, especially not with a Spraybot fitted and a 22" pad... fastest machine and lightest to use that I've tried, better than my Challenger unitOuch

I survived but barely.  I lost the yellow page listing thanks to the incompetence of Comcast and their business service.  That really hurt.  Next year the focus is on quick and dirty cleaning at super low prices and no more doing slow pay business accounts.

Specials is the name of the game for 2009

FreshAir, Slow refers to the speed of cleaning, high speed oscillators are not based on size of machine or having a spray system or not.

CCS has high speed oscillators, those that use them, especially those who have owned competitor machines, KNOW the difference and it is NOT a small difference by any means.

Most OP machines look like some kids grade 9 welding project or a modified push behind lawn mower. Try walking throught the door of the Royal York with that junk, even the door man wouldnt let you in. LOL.

We can't clean highend with something that looks like it was built in 1955.
Might be OK for hillbilly bob in the deep south of the great US of A but aint going to Fly in the 416-905 partner!

Yep go in and do a half assed job with something that cost a lot of money, you are quite the businessman there Ken-is-OK.

This is Ernie Bereche from New York. I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love that Commercial Breeze!

10 times better than my Challenger. I should have just bought that machine from the beginning and I would have two of them by now. Everything came to me fine and I started using it right away and have used it ever since.

Eventually I want to trade out my TM and you'll be hearing from me again to buy another machine.

Thanks Patty for all your help with the machine and chemicals.

That manual from front to back cover was one of the best manuals I ever owned! I have lots of other cleaning manuals from other companies but this one was very well put together and very helpful.

I imagine you are away for the holiday weekend and I hope you having fun. I'll call you back next week and order some more chemicals from you.

Thanks again for all your help and once again I love that machine, my son does too! He cleans with me.

Have a great hollday weekend.

Bye

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there"
Said "Californy is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars.

Well now its time to say good by to Jed and all his kin.
And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in.
You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality

Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?.

This reminds me of the wars in my neighborhood when growing up between the Ford and Chevy families.  Get me a hotdog and Coke when the snack guy walks by.  I want to watch this game.  Looks like it might go into extra innings.

Seriously, everyone has their preferences.  I like blondes with great legs and a nice rack.  How about you Padman and FreshAire?  Got any preferences besides which VLM unit you believe in? Popcorn

and that is my girlfriend too!!

Challenger machine is FAST working, Orbot is FASTER!!! When compared to a Cimex, pretty much on par and that is because it has a Spraybot, IN-LINE HEATER and 22" pad; all help the speed issue.

The Challenger is pretty quick, but not to the same level as an Orbot, but as for the Commercial Breeze, I can't comment as I've never even seen one here in Australia!! (even my Challenger was a special import that has had to be extensively modified to suit local conditions!).

However, having seen and used the Orbot, I know which one is the better machine!

Fresghaure, being I do OP, and have been building them longer than anyone, first off, the HOS company is a OLD customer of mine, they bought a business from my cousin. Challenger started out by a guy who I trained at MY shop.

Now, as to speed, I KNOW all the machines, I KNOW there speeds, the Commercial Breeze is a HIGH SPEED machine, neither of the other are, it doesn't matter what you CONSIDER fast, they are the SLOW speed machines. I know, I build counterbalances, and know and understand the differences.

Both a vw and a yugo are fast if you never drove a 'Vette.....

Padman, not disagreeing with you cos I have no experience of your machine as I said in my previous post, so I can't in all good faith argue over something I know nothing of. I only can say the Orbot is best within MY realm of experience...

However, if you want to send me one for my own self-education and/or your evaluation purposes, then I'd be more than happy to give my opinion over the next .... let's say... year or two, just for a balanced view? hehe Wink

PS I've never driven a 'Vette either, so I'll give one a run with my pushbike and get back to you!Clown

Padman, out of interest, my machine actually looks very similar to yours, it used to have a "Challenger" sticker on it until I had to repaint it after it blew up on me because it hadn't been correctly converted to Aussie power supply conditions (240V @ 50Hz)... I am correct in assuming it to be a Challenger, aren't I? It used to be green before it's repaint...

My first was a 49 sedan.  Then I got a 53 coupe.  Both Chevy.
That was 1969 and 1970.  Paid $75 and $125.  Gas was 33.9 for premium and ARCO was Atlantic Richfield.

Ken: John has been crying the blues for years about how fast his machines are,  those days are gone . We at HOS build a great machines that will last you for years to come and will make you a lot of money. John, Clark, and the other companies make good machines to, but for your money, just look and compare ours to the other O.P.'s out there. John is trying to sell machines, but we at HOS, our machines and owners of our machines do the selling for us. If anybody is interested about how we came about and little history about the O.P. go on to the worlds greatest carpet cleaning board. I just wanted give the other side of the story. Ken thank you for your support and enjoy your ORBOT

Tom, excuse me, but how fast the machines are is NOT in eye of use of the beholder. I am sick and tired of your LACK of knowledge of what you are talking about to give you an allowance on lying to customers.

Speed, do you understand what causes different cleaning speeds? Do you?

For a company that shows it roots back to the early 70's, when MY family was still owning the business, started by my uncle, sold and ran for years by my cousin and now you show those years as YOUR history? Seems to be a bit of a habit here of not laying out the truth.

Then when you finally built a machine you COPIED the ccs machine... wow, what great inovation!

Now you have the orbot and have I have stated over and over, it looks like a great machine, however SPEED is what I have preached, speed is what we deliver and speed is what is lied about by ALL the competitors, why? Simply because they don't know what they are talking about.

Side by side, the orbot will NOT compete with a CBreeze, it can't, do you know why not?

Until you know the answer, quit with the bs to customers.

John G.

In this day and age the one that offers a sweet financing plan wins.  Business is business and credit (not money) makes the world go around.

I have cleaned carpets very well with a 17 inch buffer, a durry black bristle brush and flat bonnets.  I hear alot about the oscillating machines.  If my customer love my cleaning what would be the difference if I had an oscillating machine.  Does anyone have any info on the comparisons?  I would appreciated it.

I have no quantitative info on it, but in saying that I have anecdotal evidence (i.e. my own experience) that will tell you that once you start OPing and understand it, you will never ever go back to your rotary again!!

Encapsulation chemicals are key to good VLM cleaning.

Did you notice that 3 out of 5 approved methods in the S100 are actually VLM methods?  Guess the IICRC knows something about carpet cleaning.

The other two methods are all wet - HWE and shampoo.  They are still approved but in the minority of choices these days.

The market has changed here - 2/3 of jobs are for those either:
1) Empty house, listed for sale
2) Empty house, listed for sale but will be a rental in the meantime

These folks have moved to where they could find a job.  Target are quick and dirty empties from this point forward for a while.  That is where my marketing efforts go now.
