Last fall I purchased a used braided rug (9 X 12) from someone on Ebay. It has been great and no problems until lately. Here in Lititz It has gotten warm and humid and I've noticed something smelling bad, maybe even musty. My husband got on his knees and smelled the rug and sure shootin its the rug. The rug has not gotten wet or even damp and we bought new padding when we got the rug. Could the oder be from where it was stored and it is coming out with the humidity or is it worse then that? Help |
What can I do ?

call a professional rug cleaning company.
does it smell like a barn?
prolly wool...get in cleaned by a PRO.

That brings back memories for me - as a kid I would remember vacationing up to a cabin upstate NY and there were some older rugs in the house that you could distinctively smell as soon as you walked in the front door. My folks had taken them out at one point for a http://professional%20rug%20cleaning - professional rug cleaning since every summer, the humidity would kick in and the musty smell would be back, no matter how much they cleaned it.
