yep- thats right.   Home depot is offering a new extended service plan for their installed carpet sales customers.    There are many stipulations like they must purchase x amount of yards spend at least 2.22sf,  But how this pertains to us is,  when customer purchases esp it includes 2 pro or so they say?? carpet cleanings. And if they put it on there HDcard they get a 3rd cleaning.  And this includes one stain removal.  If the cleaners cant get the stain out  HD will replace the carpet up to $500.   i work for hd  but i dont know who is going to be doing the service for them.  YOu all as cleaners may want to look into this.  knowing them they are probably going to use a chain.  but who knows.    I cant remember what they are charging for this.   It avarges out to around .20sf for the cleaning.   I am not suppose to be talking about this yet b/c they dont offer it yet!  oops   screw em!

All the more reason to be the highest priced cleaner in your town. Then this type of operation has very little effect on you.

Sorentino group.... headed by Paul Sorentino... In hamilton to niagra it's another guy I don't know him personally...

but Home Depo is struggling... but they all believe they are going to make it big... and in time I'm sure they will

After all the sacrifice they should.

A little education on carpet cleaning would help his outfit considerably IMO.

Sears offered us the contract for cleaning for them back in the early 70's, they wanted 30%, NOPE, no way, and have never regretted it.

Back in the 70's the prices where higher than today.......

1963 those where the good old days... where 1 room was 75 bucks to clean...

cleaning cost more than the bloody carpets.....lol

Im not sure what the cut would be?   I know there flooring installers make about a 1/4 less than i make.   These "at home services" make more money for stores like this than anything else!  So why wouldnt they offer them!    I would say it would be more of a hastle than it would be worth.   It would still be your own business "steampile" you would just be more of a subcontrator.  Usually Homedepot wants these companys to cover more than one store so that means driving to timbucktoo!   I really dont think they are going to have enough work to keep somone exclusive to hd.   They are saying 1out of 5 custmers should buy this service? Not in my rural area.   I do think if somone had some employess and sent them out on these jobs it wouldnt be a bad deal.   At least it would be extra cash flow.  This wouldnt be a good program for owner operators.  Just like anything hd starts its going to be real shakey at first.   Untill everone learns what the heck is going on!

They are all the same Sears, The Bay, Home Depot, If you want to work for nothing than get a franchise and do their work, not only do they take their cut off the top, you will be charged back for any refunds for dissatisfied customers plus all the other stipulations that are in the contract.

Go for it if you just want work

Well if you call not having your own company name on your van and not being able to work for anyone that originally called Home Depot at one time or another your own business I guess you are right.

all so you can supply everything for 60-70% of whatever you bring in at lower prices than you would usually charge.

I looked into it and I'm glad I decided against it is all.

HD doesn't take long to pay... as a frachise holder you get paid weekly... and you keep all the cash you make and the deduct it from the remittance..  the fee is just 9%

service master is also 9%

sears is 13%

thats standard across the board all through US and Canada

The name is what fuels the calls
