Thats the only bad thing about floods ... you have to wait until the dust settles and the claims are approved.

still big money when if finally comes in...... but most times it's spent already

You guys can handle it Matt.
For the small guys its murder.

Paying the GST, WSIB, and payroll before getting the cheque is tough especially when you subcontract for others and don't get the P&O.

Lee: A sub contractor should not have to wait for his money.  If he does the contractor is a con.  That is why the contractor is allowed to charge the P & O so they pay the bills.  If they are not paying the bills than it is the sub contractor who is financing the job.  It is not the subs problem regarding the payment of the claim it is the contractors problem.  Why should a sub go bankrupt because of a contractors miss management?Guitar

but thats the way it is now doug...   The contractors get the work and they sub it out... everyone waits for their money....

right now if there is a charge back or NSF check  they deduct it off my cheque...

if it takes 30 60 90 you have to wait....  thats the name of the game...

Mr. Steamer:  We are talking about two different things here.  I am referring to Restoration not cleaning.  The cleaning thing is an ongoing contract.  The restoration part is much different because insurance companies allow a markup for the contractor to pay the bills, if they don't then the 10 & 10 should go to the sub.Guitar

no we are on the same page.... I wasn't talking about cleaning ... I was talking about being a sub in general.  I've done some flood work here and there and in all cases I had to wait... no 10&10 for me..

what I was saying is subs are doing most for the financing in any business the contractor doesn't get their hands dirty....as the well protected middle man

Mr. Steamer:  It is the same all over. You can probable double or triple that number for the ones who don't advertise and just do it under the table or as a side line. Guitar
