Seems that even if you have morals and only good intentions in business, there is always that random bastard customer with different intentions who will accuse you of stealing after you left. Last week I got a call by a reputable real estate person of 25 years. I had carpet cleaned her home and she was super happy with the work but she said she had some diamond ear rings missing after we had carpet cleaned her home.
What was I to say??? I didnt take them, never saw them and my morals are so firm and honest that the thought was actually repulsive that she even called me. The only thing I could think of is they got knocked on the floor and I sucked them up, or she's a plotting whench looking for money. Either you pay her for the $300 (she claims) ear rings or she spreads the word that you are a thief to every other realty person in town. A lose lose situation at best. I just want to puke!

There are a lot of unethical real estate agents around. The only way out of this situation is to give her the $300. Go with your gut feeling on this one

Maybe ? Write her a letter telling her your really sorry, but have no clue
to what happend, but would like to help her out ! By giving her 50% off
her next cleaning.???
Then if she is just greedy ? she might go for it! ??
Or what the hell do I know?

I won't give the bitch 300 but I would write a letter to the real estate board and to her office license nominee complaining that you have never been accused of this and you regard this as blackmail.
