acidic acid(viniger) used for what?

how will adding acidic acid(viniger) to my chems help cleaning?

i use a pre spray and point blue(steam soap).

when should i use it and how?in my prespray or tank.

what really works?just tell me.

It depends if you have a french fry holder on the side of your portable........ the vinegar is for soaking fries in while you work...........but be carful not to buy the brown vinegar ........it stains the carpet

Mr. Cooper why are you using both a prespray and an emulsifier?

Maybe the carpets are a bit stiff after you are finished?

Fresh water rinse or a formulated acid rinse do wonders for a carpet.

Same stuff works on all carpets. The challenge with white now that jute backing is a thing of the past, is the magnifing effect it has on soil particles . On a colored carpet filiment, the fibers are designed to hide the soil, so that even if your cleaning got only 80% of whats there, the carpet looks very clean. White carpet makes whatever soil you leave in LOOK bigger, so a more thorough cleaning is necessary if you want great results. Follow that up with a good rinse from Prochem or Fiberclean and you will not have problems on any nylon carpet and most olefin carpets as well.

jcooper:  The berber does not suck.  Your machine sucks.  I think you need to attend a carpet cleaning seminar and fast.  All berbers are not berbers.  Make sence.  Most berbers you run into will be an olefin/nylon blend.  But you may run into a wool berber.  Just because it is a loop does not necessarily mean it is a berber carpet.  I think the word berber is just over used in the carpet cleaning industry.  If it is loop and you don't know what it is, BS the home owner it's a berber. The same holds threw for a hard twist or saxony since about 80 to 90% of them are nylon you have an 80 to 90% chance at guessing what it is and being right.  What you use to clean depends on the fiber, construction, amount of soil, type of soil and condition of the carpet. Just to mention a few options available to you to help you to make your decision on what cleaner to use.  I will close now because I am sure one of the more knowledgable and more experienced cleaners will be able to assist you with your delima.

Putting a bit of powdered peroxide in the mix really seems to make white carpet look great for me.

When you were referring to acidic acid I think you meant acetic acid, or more properly glacial acetic acid, which is used a lot to prevent bleeding on oriental rugs and diluted can make a fine (but smelly) acid rinse where browning might be an issue.
