you have got to get those cords on seperate breakers. In residential plug into the stove most kitchens in newer homes have all split plugs in the kitchen. In commerical applications it is very hard to keep your machine on seperate breakers. I'am sure some of the guys with portys can help you out better than I.

I have just bought the Ninja Century 400 w/ heat. I think it cleans really well. Definitely get built in heat. I would have hated to think that I would have had to find another plug to plug a bucket heater into. The built in heat for the Ninja is great! Also, remember that whenever you get out of hose range, you have to move your whole get-up to another location.
I just cleaned a church yesterday 5000+ square feet. I run 25 feet of hose. I had to move my machine 7 times within that building to cover everything. I have not tried running 50 feet yet. I am also using 50 ft of 12gauge extension cord on both cords on my Ninja. I had to reset the breakers (fuses) about 10 times. I blow breakers in every house I go into. Get use to it if you buy a portable. I have bought a breaker that I plug into the wall so that I do not have to go searching for the fuse box everytime.
I am doubting that with built in heat, a pump, and a couple of vacs going at the same time that one would not blow a fuse here and there (Mr. V need not chime in on this remark). I am just struggling with it until I get the ol' truckmount.
However, I think one will always need a portable in his bag of tricks.
Cheers!

Ken.. Whats your take on this..?
Only machines that this happens to are those that use exhaust heat as the primary heating method to heat the water.
It does not happen to direct drive units cause they take most of their heat from liquid to Liquid exchangers. It also does not happen to Prochem 405 models like Doug uses because that system uses a water dumping system to the waste tank to moderate water temps.
Air cooled systems like you have rely on temperature activated selenoids and exhaust diverter valves to control excess heat when the wand is not being keyed. Edited by Ken Harris - 14/January/2008 at 12:47pm |

Why let it run all out for lets say 10 minutes while you move funiture..? Save on gas idleing..
Doug.. Can you explain what orifice your talking about..? This is the 2nd TM I've owned and if you set the wand down too long running all out for 10min or so and not keying the wand the watertemp gauge rises and if no water is flowing for long enough time say like 20min's it overheats.. More in the Summer.. Doesn't do it in the Winter.. 270f shutoff safety sensor..
Ken.. Whats your take on this..?

When you set your wand down to prespray another room or move funiture your TM is running full blast and the waters not moving it gets hotter and hotter.. Idle your TM if you have 5-10 minutes of prespraying and moving things then it wont shut down.. Also blow a fan at your TM to cool it down..
