I used a caddis nymph, a damselfly nymph, a Warner shrimp, Tom Thumb , Wooly Buggers and a bead head hare's ear. I like to spear them in the lip with a fish hook. |

Well kids, Daddy's back - and I see you've done a nice job of babysitting my thread. Here's where I went, right down to a picture of the campsite I stayed at. Now that's quite an addy , but this place is a little slice of heaven, fly fisherman or not. And yes, LOTS of wildlife- a few deer , ospreys, hawks , eagles, coots, ducks with ducklings, geese with goslings, and a special treat yesterday, as a herd of horses with a few colts, as this is part of the Douglas Lake Ranch. The bear came for a visit one day, patroling a small ridge for the best part of the day. You tend to be on full alert, as this wasn't old Ben, the regular bruin. All food locked securely. And down the road apiece is Blue Lake. Tiny lake, but MONSTER trophy trout , fly fish only, and really wild. Shorter addy. I've never fished Peterhope, but the camp operator tells me I'm better off at Glimpse or Blue. http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/explore/high_country/me rritt/peterhop.htm Edited by Willy Parsons |
