The Dow is going down this month as oil continues it's relentless climb upward. How high it is going no one really knows, but it is looking like a fuel shortage is almost a certainty if we have even "normal winter weather in the northern hemisphere this winter, so even a price of $90/barrel can't be ruled out. I made that prediction back on September 8th BTW, when oil was still trading in the mid-thirties a barrel. Why is this important? Because in all the history of the United States, no president has ever been re-elected if the Dow went down in October! And it is looking that it will continue going down as oil goes up.All reports indicate that oil prices will continue to rise right into November. So is Bush's goose cooked? |
