how long is the pressure hose on your detail tool?
I know the standard is around one foot but have seen some much longer.

when I do auto detailing I have to be careful not to scratch the damn car with my QD.

Having a 1 ft. whip-hose on your upholstery tool makes no sense at all. It adds an extra pound of brass that you must carry in your hand all day. But the larger concern is taht it's swinging back and forth bumping and hitting everything that gets in its way...a large potential for damage.

The manufacturer sends them to us with 1 ft. whips. Goes to show that some manufacturers have never cleaned upholstery.

We automatically replaced it with a 12 ft. whip and of course had to put the price up to cover the additional costs.

Guess what?

Sales of tools went down dramatically because our competitors had a better price. We had a better, lighter and safer tool but they had a better price. I guess you win nightrider...price, price, price is what sells in our industry. But, for those who are paying damage claims we can sell them a large whip and hose and solve all.

P.S.
The Hide-a-Hose is also the partial answer but you must understand that the vacuum air is rushing back over the solution hose drastically reducing the heat of the cleaning and we at Kleen Kuip are big advocates of cleaning upholstery at extreme high heat. As long as you are using an upholstery tool and not a stair tool.

I did an upholstery demo today at a seniors home with a lot of wood on the arms of the chairs. A competitor was there before me also doing a demo. They asked why he made so many nicks in the varnish.

Answer
He was cleaning upholstery with a one foot whip. If he would have spent the extra money on a longer whip hose I would not be making this post and he would have the sale.
