Maybe Quebec should become part of Isreal?? I guess that could never happen as they have been on one big holiday being part of Canada? It's not easy being the welfare capital of Canada?Guitar

we all pay taxes Doug, even the people of Quebec.........I pay 52% of my paychecque every week to Federal & Provincial Taxes............Then what I have left I pay 6% Federal & another 7.5% on top of that for everything I buy on a personal use, on top of that I pay more tax on the gasoline I consume.

To boil it down on every $ 100.00 I earn, I am left with  $ 35.00

I don't know what taxes you guys pay in the rest of Canada....................But that's my story

When you understand that the Quebecers are one of the most heavily taxed people in Canada, by their own provincial government, it is a wonder that they are as productive a people as they are. Pretty hard to be motivated when the goverment is taking up to 2/3 of what you make. We pay the least amount of tax here in Alberta, and we still don't like giving away nearly half of our income.

Oh Yeah.......................I forgot to mention...................My drivers licience costs me $96.00 for 2 years

My licience plates cost me $ 258.00 for 1 year per car ( 7cars x 258.00 = $ 1,806.00 per year )

My house taxes are $ 22,000 per year

School taxes are $ 3, 300 per year

.97 per litre gas = $ 115.00 to fill up to drive 350 km

Average rent is still cheap here @ an average of $ 700.00 to $ 900.00 for a 3 bedroom upper level duplex.

A lower level duplex goes for an average of $ 1,100 to $ 1, 500

Those who are on welfare getting on average $ 500.00 /month alone........&  $700.00 to $900.00 with 1 or 2 kids still have to pay these rents.

Anybody still thinks Quebec is a great welfare place to live...............NOT IF YOU'RE ON WELFARE............... OR POOR.................... or working min. wage.

I don't call it a Nation.............last I heard P.M Harper called it a nation......................I call it a province of Canada.

I stay here because my parents, and my wife are burried here.

I also like my home on the water where I like to reflect & remember my wifes presence  when we were together.

I also think the hard core seperatists of Quebec will fade off and the younger generation will vote these a**holes out of power for good.

That is exactly what is happening. Every year that goes by, is another year that is harder to get a yes. The separatists know this, which is why they know their time is short and getting shorter all the time.
