I Own a duct cleaning business and am thinking about buying a CFR 500 w/heat to use as an additional service to existing clients. Can anyone tell me what they think about this recycling portable carpet cleaner. BTW, we use real duct cleaning machines that are gas powered not Rotobrush junk.

I have been a carpet cleaner for about 29 years except the last 5 and my experience has been with truck mounted units from the Steam Way Turbo Matic 1200 to Butler units. I do not want a truck mounted unit for several reasons not the least of which is the $30,000 price tag.

If you have real world experience with a CFR machine please let me know your opinions.

Thank you
Frank P.

I predict 10 years from now all carpet cleaners will be recycling and distilling their dirty water and returning it to the world in a better condition. In the mean time water is cheap, why would you want to use Mrs. Jones waste water on Mrs. Smiths carpets? Have you ever smelled a carpet cleaning machines waste tank? Dead That should be your answer.

If I have not convinced you we have a CFR high-pressure used unit that we would love to sell for $1,500

I  would not clean Mrs Jones house with Mrs Smiths dirty water, howerver, I get your point about dirty water not smelling so good. My experience with truck mounts is the water really stinks the next day if not dumped. Anyway why would you haul the machine out side with 13 gal of water inside?

Now that that is cleared up what did you think about the cleaning results when you used the CFR? Has it been a good cleaning machine when you used it?

I know truck mounted jockies only think their truck mount will clean carpets well. So I understand the initial response. I felt that way too. At this point I am trying to think outside the box.

I like the idea of having to dump the dirty water less. I used to have a Kleen Rite unit I used when the truck mount was not able to be used and my helper had to run the bucket bragade non stop to keep me in water. No thanks!

Any use full thoughts would be welcome at this point.
