What's up guys,
So here's a new one. Some home owners contacted me today and told me that their tennants just moved out and they're selling the home. The problem is that they were East Indian (That's not the problem), and the entire house smells like curry (That's the problem)!!! It's a pretty good sized job, and I wanna make sure that they're taken care of, but I don't know the power of curry or how to fight the smell. Any suggestions? I think they should also have their ceilings and walls cleaned also. Any advice would be appreciated tho. |

You can start by washing, sealing and painting all the walls and ceilings.

I had a similar problem with a tenant that happen to be Indian, what I did was clean all the walls & ceilings and hardwood floors with spic & span , added Borax and most of the smell was gone. Remember to keep the house well vented. The carpets were cleaned in a regular fashion.
When all was said and done, we sprayed every inch of the walls, floors, & carpets with Fabreeze. Remember to get into the clothes cubbards as well as the kitchen cubbards.
I rented the unit and supplied the paint to the new tennants of the colours of their choice.
Curry is one of the most foul smells on earth that seems to linger with no end , everything I ate smelled like that crap for 2 - 3 days. It's a smell that embeds itself into your memory forever.

What cmaster said then fog it - ozone. Wash all blinds appliances front and back and all light fixtures. Clean all electric base boards and in forced air all plenums.
