| Toss a "para urinal puck" into the tank in a pinch. i guess the only way that would happen is if you also do janitor work and have them on you OR if it is a commercial job go check the mens washroom for a used one LOL of course don't touch it....but they do work. | |

| I had a situation last week where I needed some. Of course I did not have any of my ESTEAM DEFOMER on board as I do more duct cleaning then carpet cleaning. Anyways I just went over the spot a few times and it did the job. I have a kickass truck mount though with LOTS of Suction. Cleanco 47. I use Performace CBS and Suspend through my hydroforce. Works awsome. Looking at getting shelves for my truck so that I can carry all my cleaning agents at all times.

Surrounding I think you read it wrong.  In a pinch means example: if you were at a job and ran out of defoamer what would be an alternative, but hey I could of read your message wrong too.  | |

Forgive me for missing something here, but if you wanted a defoamer,
why wouldn't you buy one? Is this product only avaliable in
Australia?  I think not. & if you wanted to get out gum, buy either a solvent or that instant freeze stuff that I love and sell so well? Surely you know when you're running low? -Allen

I would generally prespray the spot and then extract it. If that doesn't work I'll put a table leg directly on the spot....lol.

I would also like to hear some alternatives to defoamer. I've had a couple jobs where somebody spilled a whole bottle of liquid soap on the carpeting and what a nightmare it was extracting with no defoamer. Of course I ended up charging more...but if I had defoamer or some kind of quick "alternative" I would have been finished the job alot sooner. Live and learn I always say. If you run out of gum remover try WD-40. It works like a charm.

I've been told that a bar of Ivory Soap will work for a while.
I'm struggling with that one, personally, but I've had it
explained.  It made sense at the time. How about some defoamer instead? It's fairly cheap in comparison to other products.... Allen
