Wife's office building was cleaned, they used a nasty deodorizer called Bano. The tech had no MSDS sheets now some people in the building want to report him...who you gonna call?

That is a mild deodorizer that covers up odours by use of pairing agents. Very few people have a problem with it.

Used it for years myself with no problems. Alot of these ratings are overblown IMO. Now Butyls, that is another story. I developed a sensitivity to those after years of exposure that is with me years later.

Bano must be properly diluted. In a concentration that is too rich it will smell like Isopropyl Alcohol. I believe thats whats in it. When diluted 256:1 it smells great. I would call the Ministry of Labour if there really is an issue here. Most people don't realize that employers must identify all hazards and supply MSDS on demand. If the cleaner is self employed it is the same thing because self employed people are viewed as employers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act |

After some thought I would let the joint health and safety committee take care of it. If the company is smaller then I would contact the City Health Department. |

It sounds like you have the American info DLD. If not there are big problems as Nonyl Phenol Ethoxylates are illegal in Toronto, even down the sanitary sewer system. Bottom line is that these products are given no respect by cleaners. We use real firepower and we should give it some respect. Bottom line is that it is obviously a hazardous product and the company as the prime contractor has the right to know the hazards associated with the product and that info is contained on the MSDS. |

I believe this product is manufactured in Montreal.....it is cheap to purchase and that is way it smells like a cheap whore.......every product that you purchase for carpet cleaning you should be asking for a MSDS sheet.....and supply the customer with this information upon request....this is your obligation....bottom line.
