Advice for Carpet Cleaners that take credit cards

So I am reading around here and wanted to contribute....

Carpet cleaners are always talking about they can get new business, to have more money coming in, one way you can add more money, is to look in the mirror and evaluate your own merchant account situation.

When looking to accept credit card payments at your carpet cleaning places, you need to understand that your rates when you accept a Visa or Mastercard "rewards" card or "business" card will be different than when you take a "regular" Visa or Mastercard. Many business owners think they are only being charged one rate because that is all they are being told by a sales rep.

The rate percentage is higher for a rewards card and even higher for a business card.

If you have not paid attention or kept an eye on the rates and fees you are being charged per sale from your processing company, you need to start doing that, or you will be paying as much as 5% of each sale you do, when it could be as low as 3%, and with personal credit cards, 2%.

NOT TRUE in Canada so take a hike Omega!
