Update: Was just called back to this house where I thought it was a crema. This was in the spring last I was in there. I have to go in Friday and install some tiles in the kitchen. Soon as I walked in and looked at the floor I noticed it's not a crema marfil. Looks to me to be a Crema
Mora. I'm thinking that it should still be the same procedure tho correct?????

For a crema marfil I would stop at the 800 and run the 5x with a tampico brush and call it a day. I do not use any of MB products, not that they are not good. But I need to have control over by powders and mb stuff is just two hot, and I do not have the time to work the powder from wet to dry to make it work. I am very lazy and I like to get in and out of the job as fast as I can with as little items as possible.

Hey Joh, you use much of MB's products? Which products do you have a preferrence to? 5X, Diaglo etc. I know it depends on the colours of marble but I usually go up as far as I can with the diamonds for the clarity. I have a crema marfil coming up soon and if I can get away with going up to 800 diamonds and throw some diaglo down with a white pad, it could save me alot of time/money.

Diamonds are the only way to go to give a truely proper restoration. Crystacrap will eventually come back and bite ya in the butt. As stated above, the stone needs to breath and after a while down the road, you might start seeing pieces of the marble flaking or spalling.

check out www.cleanerssolution.com It is my father and father in law's shop in Gaithersburg, MD. They carry a product that I use for Marble cleaning and shining. Works great!!! It goes for only $20.00 dollars a quart. Go to the search function on their site (upper right) and type in Marble. It will come up as a Chemspec Marble Crystallizer. Good Luck!!! |

At this point we are 75% done. I hope to have it up by the middle of Feb. I am sure it won't be totally finished, but it will be a start. My primary method depends on the condition of the stone, grout and amount of daily traffic (Commercial Vs. Residential). I grind if there is lippage, but usually Honing and powder polishing will handle the situation. I can tell you $300 for a 10 lb bucket is waaaaaay too much. I pay $180 U.S. for 25lb's. I think I could find it cheaper, but the person I buy it from has a tremendous amount of knowledge that he is willing to share with me whenever I need him.
