Ed, You do have good units but come on. You actually believe Jim.. I think the guy is hyping up the Recoil... I will challenge any of your Boys and units against my PowerClean unit... Hey, and they can use a booster.. I'll eat'em up on raw power..
I've used 3-3stage. 2-2stage.. portys for too many years.. You cant hype a veteran cleaner..

It was a real pleasure meeting with Jeff Van Buren and showing him the new RECOIL-XPS system. Truly unique as he has stated.
Also, it is always interesting to see different points of view, as stated from my good friend, John L. However, here is another we received recently by Jim McDannel of FL which is directly opposite of Johns and can only prove that 2 individuals couldn't agree on sunshine and the weather: ________________________________ "Man Ed, I used your machine again today, Every time I hook that thing up Im still impressed, I have two truck mounts, One with a 3.5 blower and a 4.5 blower, Your portable will give my legend a run for its money on dry times, the legend only cost me 12,000 in 97 if only I had your unit then.. If gas keeps going up, I guess I'll be buying options for the Recoil. Jim McDannel, FL _________________________________ Thanks again; Ed Valentine cross-american corp. |

I seen an awsome portable today, Cross American 300 CFM plus booster available for extra 100 CFM, 500 PSI adjustable. Unit rocks runs 2" hose. You can run inexcess of 100 foot 2" hose with out booster, machine can stay in van.

Go Ninja with HEAT.. (T.A.C.H.) = Time, Agitation, Chemical, Heat
Your only going to get so much vac on portable's.. Want more vac then Shorten the vac hose to 25'.. or get a booster.. HEAT is part of the cleaning pie..
You can run 2-2stage with 200psi with heat and run 25' vac and have superior results if you know how to do the magic.. If you want long hose runs you shouldn't get a porty..
I have went thru 4 portables in 15 years. And when I added HEAT it was sweet..

The Habitek Pelican has outstanding suction, but low PSI.

Sounds like you have done plenty of research, avoid the Cobra 1200 by US Products, rather than get into it again visit dirtygrout.com tools and equipment section. Anyway some points that should be of concern. Large rear wheels for stairs, weight distribution, most will weigh between 120-145# when distributed correctly no problem. Vacuum is very important, adjustable range preassure is nice. Then heat, heat is important but not as important ans vacuum. Next if your going to use a Rotovac which is nice but uses more water suggest 15# gallon solution tank. Jon Don jondon.com has a nice unit Pathfinder not many have tried I have one and it uses a diaphram rather than just large tanks so it can stay compact heat range is around 170# cost about $1800.00 all depends waht your doing, and funds

I hear the NInja is mucho reliable.
Since youre just getting started....Flood your town with marketing and get your name out there as much as possible. Give biz card to anyone and everyone you meet. Its also a good Idea to get yourself a sm. rotary to prescrub the nasties with....Itll make a BIG difference since youre using a portable. Sorry to hear about your situation. Hope everything works out!! |

I'm certainly glad all of you are so forthcoming with information. Were all of you born knowing this stuff?
My drycleaning store was closed by the NY state DEC for failure to comply with air pollution regs. I lost my life savings, and I'm desperately trying to get into a related field. So if anyone can offer me any advice, I'd be much obliged. Thanks.

I have decided the best machine for me is a 200psi, with heat, and at least 150" of vacuum lift. My local dealer sells the five following brands, all at around $1500 for the above power. Stinger,Mercury,Ninja,Galaxy & Mytee. I'm leaning towards the Ninja or the Mytee, based on what I've read here. So based on the usual issues of ease of use, reliability, easy to maintain etc, which brand would you suggest?
