Topic: Truckmounted machine freezingPosted: 05/August/2009 at 3:30pm |

I just recently moved my business to Denver, Colorado. I do disaster restoration and water damage restoration with a truck-mounted carpet cleaning machine.... Should the cold temperatures of a Denver Winter give me cause for concern as far as the liquid freezing? Any tips or tricks for keeping this problem from happening would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you heat it hot enough to turn it into the gaseous state. That is called STEAM?

Run undiluted plumbing anti freeze through your system every night, when you turn machine on the next morning collect most of it back and start all over again.....trhat's what I did back in the 80's ( Didn't have a garage )

I tried the windshield wiper stuff.....but when put through system it was hard to see the difference because of the dilution ratio, back then wiper fluid was only 49 cents / gallon but not worth the chance to freezing the system.
The problem I did have often was the blower impellers sticking even when lubed with oil

Your right nightrider. It has to be closely monitored.

I blew High pressure air(75 psi+) through the system if it was not colder than -20C. After that anti-freeze was the only thing I used. Not worth taking a chance with equipment worth thousands for the sake of a couple of $$$.
