i live in fort collins just north of denver. i would not screw with running random chemicals through the unit hoping nothing will happen. you will not sleep at night. plus one day you will forget. you need a heated garage. it gets below -20 several times every winter.

You can drain the unit and run little electric heaters that have built in fan that will move the air around the back. Just make sure you put the heater on something metal, just in case it malfunctions. If you have the van completely closed up this will work without any real concern for fire, because there is not enough air inside for anything to turn into a major blaze anyway. Also make sure you have it on a grounded circuit that wont trip if you turn on a light or something. This works even better if you have the van parked inside a garage as well.
Of course this is just my opinion and try this at your own risk. |

Also you wouldn't want to be storing any flammables in the van if you do this and you would want to put the heater as far away from any gas lines as possible.

Chuck970.....In Montreal Canada where I live -20 is a spring day, we walk around in our t-shirts and shorts.....It gets to -50 with the wind chill factor -70.....that's when we put on a pair of gloves and a wool sweater. When we say to run plumbing anti-freeze we know what we're talking about.....
