What does everyone charge per foot? It looks like people are getting around .36 cents here. I was just wondering who's getting the most . And is anyone raising their rates with these gas prices?

Commercial or residential?  I have a flat rate when it comes to residential work at about $30 an area.  This does not include deoderizer, protector etc.  It does, of course, cover the basics though: pre-spray, spotting, grooming, fab-set.  In commercial work I work anywhere from .25 cents to .50 cents a sq ft.  It all depends on the condition of the carpet, the bigger the pain in the ass the job will be, the higher I will charge per sq ft.  Most jobs I find myslef bidding at about .35 cents

Residential:

$.38 to $.78 per square foot which does not include stain removal, dyeing, protector or heavy furniture removal.  Strictly soil removal.  Minimum job regardless of size is $189.  We use GREEN chemicals only and promote the heck out of it.

Commercial:

It is not part of our business plan.  But we know the companies that do handle commercial do an excellent job for their clients.

The jobs we turn down are identified by the prospect's 2 leading questions:

1.  How much do you charge?
2.  When can you do it?

If price is more important to the potential buyer that the health of their children, pets and the environment then they do not meet our requirements to be a customer.

duckcountry,

I love your saying and policy. I want to put it up on our website billboard size. This shows commitment and confidence.

Remember the old rule cut everything you hear about how much we charge, and how many sq ft per hour they can clean, and than cut it in half and you will be closer to what is the truth!
