So I have given up on the carpet cleaning idea , and am thinking of just
starting an office cleaning type company? I was wondering if any of you have any info on this or know a forum or a site where i can learn about rates, typically how much these guys pull in, that type of thing. I will be the owner and the one doing the work parttime to begin with. |

I'd still try to get hooked up with a carpet cleaner though. We are in homes and offices all the time and can recommend your services. People are always asking me if I know of a good housekeeper. I've no idea what other companys charge for their cleaning services, I just know that the girl I recommend (who happens to be a close friend of mine) charges something like $30 an hour. Granted she is a very small 2-person operation, but she seems to do alright.

I dont think there is a way to answer that. Im sure it can be a very profitable business, just like any business, as long as you are reliable and provide quality work. However, I know that there are less start-up costs. When I first got started I borrowed nearly $30,000!

I think this is enough elaboration. Steamer hit all the major reasons for NOT doing janitorial services. In our opinion it is a PITA.
