It's basically a fancy name to sell more detergent at a higher price. Been on the market for over 30 years now. It breaks the molecules into a smaller size to do more effective cleaning from a smaller amount of detergent. Works better a lower temp than regular detergent. More common in the UK and the US markets than in Canada.
