As any of you who own a website will know, one of the key factors that increase your page ranking on search engines such as Google is link popularity.
Google assume that if a number of quality websites, that are in a related field link to your site, that you must be a popular and valid form of information in the field. One way to do this is to exchange links with other sites. So that is why I am writing.I want to link to sites, and in return you link to mine. That way everyone sees an increase. If anyone is interested just send me a pm Thanks Bub |

Sorry night rider, I do not understand your logic?
I am just about to launch a great website, that was done for free by a young guy who is studying to be a graphic designer/web designer, he wants to build his portfolio...I put a poster up in his school asking for a photographer and web designer, got both, one to shoot the images, one to build the site.It cost me the total sum of a nights beer and food for them both. As for the search engine optimization..you can spend lots of money, as you can do with ad words, but if you are already spending money on flyer's and advertising, what cost is involved in promoting your site. It allows the millions of shoppers who spend billions of hours making informed decisions via internet research, the chance to find out more about who you are. As for vanity... no friend, common sense, business logic and sensible marketing, in the modern world those with sites are the norm, while those without... |

There should be a Kleen Kuip lunk exchanger? I know it wouldn't really help the businesses that read this forum from the same location but it could help everyone form different locations...maybe? |

Link exchange is a tricky thing...
If you have a lot of links coming in thats a great thing. If they are coming in from high ranking sites, even better. But they have to be from sites that are relevant to your business. There is a term called "link farming" , which is googles view of sites exchanging links.Best bet is to go to google and enter the term blogger which will bring up googles free blog tool,.You can start your own carpet cleaning blog and link to your site.Or you can write an article on cleaning carpets, and submit it to a local online newspaper, and ask that they link to you. There are lots of very smart ways to get GOOD QUALITY links, for free.If anyones intrested just shout! http://www.natradry.com/ |

for some interesting reading and viewing check out this guys site regarding SEO, link tunneling and other tidbits of interest:
http://jameseo.com/ He handles web for one of the largest in the nation. Not to say that his handling the web end made them the largest. I was with them in the 70s, they were sales and marketing kings even then. Just saying how he got to handle the web for the big guys is due to reputation and performance so he might have a few things right. |

Hello All,
My name is Matt, and this is my first post. I have been reading/researching a lot about SEO(search engine optimization.) While it is true that linking to your site helps your ranking, linking with relevant text helps even more. For example, I hope to come up high in google when people search "carpet cleaning madison wi." That is why my link in my signature says that, but links to my site. Also, trading links doesn't help rankings nearly as much as one way links. If you want to trade links with someone it's best to post them from one of your secondary web pages to their main page, and vice versa, rather than just exchanging links from your main pages. Google has caught on to that "trick" and de-valued the links.
