I'm sure many people sign up and then stop coming around. Unless the administrator drops members due to inactivity, the membership will only grow. I've signed up on forums before just so I could get one question answered, and then I never go back, but I'm sure I'm still a member. Then there are the lurkers. I don't have a problem with lurking in the forums. It's not as if the majority of posts here really "contribute" much--it's just as likely that people post because they like interacting with others in their field, on any level. Doug's forums are a good example of this. Nothing wrong with that at all.
