Steamer, we use the cimex as a pre scrubber in greasy restaurants, makes the extraction a lot easier.

Lee,
Try your local aluminum welding shop. They can custom make one for you. Nice and lightweight

Considering that wool carpets have an ability to hide dirt inside the cuticles of the fiber I wouldn't want to encap them. Encap is supposed to create tiny crystals afterall.
That being said I know that Nathan loves to scrub his rugs with a Cimex.
Steamer-I have two Cimexs now and love them.
Really no down side except loading and unloading the machine. Still looking for a really good ramp.

The Cimex was developed in England, tons of wool carpets, it was meant to be used as a shampoo machine with brushes and not as we use it to day with thermoplastic pads. I would suggest if you use it on wool get the soft brushes and pre shampoo and than extract [dry or wet extraction] and the carpets will clean and look real good. Most encap products are close to neutral on the ph scale, so they make good shampooing detergents in a setting like this, Do not attempt to use the thermoplastic pads on wool, if you want to encap clean only a wool carpet than I suggest cotton pads only be used, otherwise you could end up buying a few wool carpets

You can use en-cap on wool carpets as long as it is neutral or slightly acidic.

Steamer
I would not suggest you to use the Cimex on plush carpet. On industrial wool we suggest you use the less aggressive pad and of course the concern would be the chemical that you use. Clean with neutral or slightly acidic product. A product that I suggest is Carpet Cleaning Crystal (En-cap).
Using the accelerator with a cotton pad would be less aggressive.
