I got a reply to my question at Mytee regarding their AirHog.  My question was this.  "
does the water hog work with my unit and if so what is the
configuration?  I mean the extractor is using a 1 1/2\" 25\' hose and
the idea is to get as close to 100\' as possible.  How long a hose goes
from wand to booster, is it 2\", and then what about the hose going from
the 1001HV to the booster?  Wondering how it differs in performance with
the cross-america unit."

I asked about the wrong unit in the question but I got the skinny straight from their company rep.

I believe you are talking about the AirHog.  These vacuum boosters were
specifically designed to be used with our cold water extractors.  The
issue with using them with our hot water units is base capacity to plumb
the exhaust.  Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Im starting to think it will just be one more think to lug around...may just save for a tm and not waste any more money trying to make a portable better???

I am so tight with money I get the indian riding the buffalo on a nickel.  So in a way I was kinda hoping I could get $900 worth of performance for half price.  But why I am getting it is what makes this the first major (for me) equipment investment this year.  Second will be a new ramp (old ones weighs about 60lbs).  Third will be chemical shelving for the van.  Last will be the power splitter junction boxes from Mytee.  At least the first two are presents for my back muscles.  Maybe the third too.  Last one just ends a real source of irritation.

Acording my conversation with Donald at Steam-Brite last friday there is not restriction to use the air-hog booster in any other portable extractor (different than Mytee) with heat or not heat. Anyway, at this point I think that the booster made by Ed at cross-america is the best opcion.

Next time you talk to him, ask him about his philosophy about vacuums being in parallel or series on exatactors, and which is best. I'd be curious to see if his opinion has changed.

Thats what i did.. Portable after portable after portable after portable and inbetween all that a small 20hp TM.. LOL YaSee each portable was a little bigger and a little stronger or had heat or had more gallons..Big%20smile
 
I even added a 3 stage to 2-3stage = Yea it was a 3/3stage.. RECOIL.. OH YEAH..! Carpet%20Cleaner They don't sell 3/3 stage RECOILS.. Circuit blower thats why..
 
So i tell my Son lets get a BOOSTER for added power and he said what you said.." More crap to lug around". Son>>  Mallet%20Fight<<Pops..
But thats up to you..Headbang
 
So we saved every penny and bought a mid size TM.. OH YEAH..! Terrific!

blah, blah, blah.  When labor is so cheap that saving time doesn't matter, we'll see Kenny get a sale. In the meantime, buy a TM or a porable with 3-stage vacuums. The more the better.

I had a feeling you Ken would mention that about the gas.. And No it wont be $12/gal in 2yrs.. A revolution will happen before that does.. Mind you Ken, My Customers pay for the gas i use..LOL

And if does come to that then i will abundantly think about portables.. Already have a 175 rotary so might just be a padder with a Honda hachback..hahaha.LOL

Ken , nothing personal, but I found a message you posted in 2004 or 2005 where you said gas would hit $4 the following year (4 or 5 anyway).  You predictions are based on worst case.  Bring your thinking back in line with reality which is somewhere between optimistic and pestomistic.
