i have to clean an area rug thats hand made,100%nylon face yarn and its shag.at least two inches.it says dry clean.what can i use?

Can you not take it out of the home and dry clean it your self. I never heard of a shag that had to be cleaned by dry cleaning. Can you imagine the dust mites and dirt that accumulates in a shag. YUK!!

I would just give it a thorough vac, clean it with my normal chems, and fan dry it.

Might check to be sure that the backings aren't natural fibers. I know Unique Carpets makes a lot of extremely expensive shag rugs and wants them dry cleaned although it isn't necessary. |
