hi everyone,

i've just realised that i've got a really big problem - and i'm hoping someone here could help me.

about a year ago, my flatmate and i thought it would be a good idea to cover the carpet in the hall and place lino over it. the lino kept sliding around so we got some strips of carpet glue (the ones that normally hold carpets to floor boards) and stuck them onto the carpet.

now after a year, he's moved out and i decided i would get rid of the lino as it looks pretty crap anyway. to my horror the carpet glue has sunk into the carpet, and just will not budge at all. i've tried vanish, some foamy carpet cleaner, nail varnish remover and lots of scrubbing, but it's still as sticky as before. Confused

i know now that it was a pretty silly thing to do, but please help if you know of a magical product or some helpful hints.  i so can't afford a new carpet!

ok, back to scrubbing for me,

hi there,

well,i found something that sort of works; in german it's called "lehm entferner", which roughly translated is glue remover.

i got it in the chemists, it's some kind of hardcore alcohol. i had to try it out on a tiny piece of carpet first, but it got quite a bit of the glue away.

it's still a bit sticky here and there, but i'm sure that will sort itself out with time...

thanks for your tips n efforts!

Citra Gel from prochem, make sure you rinse it out. do not over scrub
this can cause abrasion to the fibers. Citra gel with a little dwell time, agitation with a bone scrapper and rinse.
