Going from $10,000 to $30,000/mo in 2 years.....

    Steamers 10,000th post brought back memories how I was in his position looking for business 10 years ago, working 150 jobs/month in the warm months here as Calgary's lowest priced cleaner. Yes lowest priced at only $49 for a Whole house special(5 rooms). I still hardly ever got beyond $10,000/month even working that hard. I had just bought my first Cleanco Compact TM the year before, and I was determined to do better. Within 2 years of making my mind up that year, I went from .10/ft that year to .50/sq ft in 1999. My sales on the truck went over $30,000 per month and then beyond.

I wrote an article how I accomplished this turn a round from Calgary's cheapest cleaner to the most expensive in less than 24 months. It makes interesting reading, and to this day, is the greatest transformation in the carpet cleaning field that I am aware of. To raise ones rates by 500% in only 23 months.

I never sold it Doug. I sold 51% off to raise capital to expand Aqua-Max in 2001 when it looked like sales were going to top $1 Million in 1982. That was more than Aqua-Jet Carpet Cleaning was doing, so it seemed a good idea at the time. Unfortunatly, the troubles I got into with the glides 2 years latter made it a bad bet, and the apprectation of the Canadian dollar against the US dollar the same year did not help either.

But I got the 51% share back, and my carpet cleaning company still tops 1/2 million in sales every year, so I am not complaining. I know that is not as big a company as you and a few others have, but I am happy with that for the time being. After the glides are resolved next year, I am going to expand that company up to a million dollar operation with the increased cash flow I will have.
