I posted this somewhere else, but I'll tell you here too.

I use local college girls for part time helpers. I rake in the prespray and work on stubborn spots while they use the wand. Since I've been doing this, my business skyrockets in the summertime when they wear shorts and t-shirts. It's usually the guy who meets me at the door and I never get complaints.

I have a special short-handled rake that I like to call my "stainguard rake". I spray, they rake. It's really amazing how much some customers are willing to pay for stainguard.

By the way, I love my job.

Mr. Steamer I don't believe in free anything? The more you have cleaned the better price I can give you. I think you should keep stairs out of your specials. They can be a very profitable add on. 13 steps $32.50 instead of priceing by the step on the invoice just say stairs x amount you don't have to tell them the price per step. Let the customer earn that price reduction? If it is free going in it has to be free going out?

what do you guys think about giving a way 1 room free to first time customers just to try us out...with no obligation to purchase???

Do a trial in a selected area and see if it works for you. I tried it a few years ago and it worked for me. I only had a couple of custys who only took the freebee

Give your body a rest, you kill yourself for almost 10 months a year, time to rejuvenate the body, it is only 8 weeks and things will start to pick-up again, been that way for 37 years and I don't see it changing.
