The problem here in regards to using 2" hose is:
If the system is capable of moving the volume amount of AIRFLOW to accomidate the increase in hose dia. Most are not. The very best; Ed Valentine |

Good to hear, I am now running two 2 inch hoses into the house to a Y and then 50 to the tool. Wanted to know if 2.5 would make that much of a difference.

Yes, I usually run 2.5 right to my wand, My company mainly does apartments, so most of the setups are fairly short. The only problem I have came across is that 2.5 is a bit more stubborn when kicking it out from under your feet. But that's what helpers are for. The truck that I am running right now was designed for 3" hoses and I have reducers to get it down to 2.5 and 2". By the way, you all might be surprised what all a 2.5" hose will suck down if you don't keep an eye on it.

Yes, when I upgraded from 2" to 2.5" I noticed that my dry time was cut way down, and also that my shoulder hurt worse when I got home. However after about 250', it seams like it losses a little bit more power than the 2" hose. So on really long setups I will use about 200' of 2.5", and the rest 2". There was a time when I had a ridiculously long setup, and I ended up running 250' of 2.5", 200' of 2", and 50' of 1.5". I also had the rpm's on my vortex cranked way beyond the norm.
