A spot is an opportunity to make money. A stain is what was thought to be a spot but couldn't be removed.

spot belongs to the homeowner the hole belongs to the cleaner? If spot is lighter than the colour of the carpet. time for the knife or dyeing. If darker time to put a mat over it??
