I have a Sandia Sniper 3-500 that has 3 vacuum motors and a heater which draws 15/13 amps and a RX-20 Hydramaster. What wattage generator should I get 5000 or 5550? Or do I not even need one???

Figure out your kilowatage.
I would think that 5kW is plenty. |

Well 3vac,heater,pump = how many amp draw..? RX how many amps..? Are you sure its 15/13 on the vacs and heater..? Don't sound right.. A elec.heater alone usually is 15 to 20 amps..
Figure it out and we can go from there.. 6500W+ for sure..

Those vacuums are in series, right? Don't use that rotary wand with that machine.

My point (if you are talking to me) is that your machine must have about 100 cfm. That's about as low as you can go on cfm. Your waterlift is going to be really high, but that's not going to help you clean carpet, compared to a model with vacuums in parallel.

Does the Sandia Sniper have enough cfm or vacuums in parallel?

I believe the machine you're describing has two 3-stage vacuums in it. They are in series (one sucking through the other), rather than in parallel (each working on it's own) which means it pulls very little air through the machine, but it pulls it very hard when all the openings are totally closed, which is never.
I recommend a machine with 200 or more cfm, and that's if you're using rotary wand made for a porty. If not, I would recommend more. Edited by FriendlyHammer - 03/December/2007 at 6:08pm |

The heater on my Ninja hardly ever trips a breaker. I plug into a 15 amp that's not sharing, and I don't have to worry about it. The vacs are another story. |
