I'm new to the game and starting to get nervous about being a licensed cleaner. Is the exam hard for a basic carpet cleaner, and what is usually the cost.More importantly do you need to be certified.???????????????????????????

No need to be nervous man!! (...Umm Ok..I was nervous too before lol) Just sign up and take the 2 day IICRC course and plunge in and take the exam!! The two day course usually runs about $299 for two full days. The exam is not really that hard at all (I scored a 98%) And...do you need to be certify?. Well, now since the mills require all cleaners to be certified to be able to clean their carpet or else they'll void the warranty...I would say it wouldnt be a bad idea to get certified. | |

Certification is bullsh*t. Training is important. Take the course, forget the exam | |

the test proves nothing. go talk to other cleaners, pay attention to what is being said don't be afraid to ask questions. knowledge can help or hurt you. the most valuable thing you will get is the manual for future reference when you have a concern about something. Go give it your best shot . be all you can be.
