I live in Syrcause, New York and Sears Carpet and Upholstry does the job. I had them do my carpets this week and they turned out great. Searsclean.com for more information about them. I would highly recommend you to use them. Comments?

Looks like somebody in Syracuse is a Sears Sucker.  Laugh%20Roll

Lowers the standards of Sears in the eyes of anyone that googles this thread and then reads our responses to a failing carpet cleaning organization Sears represents.

At least Home Depot has enough respect for its reputation that it wouldn't do this unless the Mr. Incompetent who started this thread gets hired on by them to weave some more of his trickery which seems to be the only way Sears can get anyone to buy their outsourced services.

The truth is there are major lawsuits against that Syracuse Sears for destroying carpets, rugs and furniture.  The state attorney general is seeking criminal charges against all those involved.  As they say Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware.

There, hopes that drives a wedge between what Syrcause, New York and Sears Carpet and Upholstry does from the Searsclean.com website.  Check them out and then run the other way.

I approve this ad.

When spammers stop using our board for their self promotion we will stop bashing them.  In the meanwhile what we are doing is what should be done to any self serving fool who dares to tread in here.  No one like spammers and that goes for people who might be looking for a decent carpet cleaner and are misled into believing Sears is top dog by posts like those that populate the search engines by being posted on boards with terrific reputations.

You asked one question: Why the searsucker bashing.  There is your answer now take it up with sears corporate.
Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

In Canada Sears is the Top dog...maybe not in quality of cleaning ..but in the amount of Jobs they book.   The GTA alone books around 200+ jobs a day.

I don't know any other company that can book so many.

Bad or good people just keep calling them back.

Being a former Sears guy I can tell you ....the way to get good is to clean carpet annd furniture...and if you work for sears you get 35 to 40 jobs a week easy.

Lots of you don't even clean that in a year and you call yourself professional.

Lots of the subs are pulling 8 to 10 thousand a mounth...at that sh*tty percentage, and they still make more than most of the private guys around.

I've been on my own now since 2005 stealing a lot of customers over my 10 years of working there.  You think Sears feels that...LOL  NO WAY new boobs call every damn day...LOL

Why do people choose a big name like sears?  Recognized name associated with a large company who they believe actually employees these subs contractors and have 100% control over.  They know if something is screwed up sears will not move and change its name to avoid dealing with a lawsuit.

What they don't know is how sears will transfer the blame to the sub and act clueless in court if they ever show up, that there is not quality control in place, that Sears knows carpet cleaning like it knows siding and that you are being sold the perception of being with the most knowledgeable carpet cleaning company who will care for your carpets like care for your children.

Name Brand Recognition - misused by so many big and small.

You Know The Name - yeah, but they weren't making anything even close to the crap you want me to believe the exact same company is making and selling now because they went out of business.

Point is this is a situation involving business ethics and not how successful a company is with sh*tty ethics.  Sears once was a credible company who would apologize for its people and products, now it is doing whatever it takes to survive even it means doing in the customers belief in them because they have a massive market manipulation machine in place to deal with the shouts of unsatisfied customers and drown out their cries with lies while denying culpability or the extent of shared responsibility (the problem is caused by you the homeowner because you did not care for your carpet according to manufacturer guidelines and our excellent cleaning service just goes to prove it).

That about does it, if errors of omission are the way to build a successful business lets all hire former car salesmen to do our bidding.  Then hide behind an offshore call center, an impossible to navigate call tree and an arrogant attempt at stifling the customer by denying any validity to their claims with the services of people who serve at Sears' beckon and call.

It costs less money to do the work thoughtlessly than to approach it thoughtfully.

Any real company needs people...not just 1 guy!
sales people
AR/AP people
people to answer the phones
people to clean the carpets.

1 guy does not make a business! 1 guys makes a JOB.

A lot of you guys are not really running a business you are just doing a job and getting a pay cheque.

So then, go work for Sears and all you have to do is clean carpet.
no sales, no collecting money 90 days later, no running around for chemicals...it's all right there at the Sears office.

sounds better to me than a 1 man band trying to do sales one day then clean carpet the next.

with Sears you have calls every day FOR SURE!!!

one man show ????? crying every CryJanuary and FebruaryCry begging his friends on ICS to send him money so the phone does not get cut off or getting people to send money because he blew the pump on his truck mount.

Ask Ted how many guys come in a buy 1 gallon of this and 1 gallon of that?
That's not a business! C'mon guy...you can't afford a case of Formula 77?

Duckcountry you know nothing about Sears...  That post is all bull crap!

Take if from someone who knows.  Sears stands behind all there products 100%

This is how it breaks down in Canada

Sears owns the name. For that they get only 13% off the top.

The sell a guy a franchise....the franchise owner in turn hires employees

a rookie works for 13% booked 17% upsell
a Senior Tech gets 20%booked 25% upsell

some franchisee owners sub out the work

a sub gets 35% booked 45% on up sell
reservices and damages is the subs problem...but Sears
takes care of it, and charges it to the franchise owner...and
then he charges it to the sub...  interest free payments if it's
a large amount.

Sears takes care of there customer first at all costs.... as a sub you could loose thousands if your not careful...doing a sh*t job only costs you as a sub

Duckcountry you're posting about a company you know nothing about.
