Hey, all!

I'm trying to get into carpet cleaning, and I was wondering where I can get chemicals for my portable.

It's a Bissel ProHeat 2X Select Pet. It'll be great for those nasty pet stains, plus it's portable!

Hahahahahaha!  LOL
LOL
Seriously, though...I'm in janitorial at the moment, and I'm trying to get started in carpet cleaning. I've been doing the carpets at work for about 2 years...mostly coffee and juice stains...oh, and gum too...  Did I mention that it's Polyester carpet? Unhappy

Anyway, when I did a ride-along with a cc friend to get some extra training, he told me that I should get IICRC certified. So I took the CCT class a couple of weeks ago and I'm ready for a new challenge! (Cleaning toilets can only take you so far...)

IICRC have a certification for that now???  Your friend must get his chems from a local disty. Ask him as you should attempt to stay as close as possible to your supplier.

I'm not sure what the confusion is, but I am looking to leave janitorial for cc.

I was totally kidding about the Bissel. I'm looking to buy a TM.

doug is right.  Get to know your local supplier.  That person will best the best source of information for specific situations you run into.

So, what equipment are you looking into?

Well, my friend was actually thinking about selling his whole business... but I don't know how serious he really is and I don't think he's really made up his mind, so I feel like I'm in limbo at the moment.

I would really like to get started, so I called one local distributor today, and they knew of another guy who wants to sell... so that's the direction I'm going. No real preference on equipment yet, so long as it's reputable... I've been following this forum for a few weeks now, so you all have given me some good ideas as well as things to stay away from....

I do have a question about the polyester, tho...you can crank up the pH on it to get it clean, right? Use Flex, maybe...? But how do you keep it from resoiling? We got our Maintenance office carpet all cleaned up, but after 3 weeks it looked like we had never cleaned it at all! Downer Not good.

How good are encaps and protectors, really? Any help would be AWESOME!

(And I don't really have a portable.) But maybe IICRC should expand into janitorial...

I inspect, clean, and restore all kinds of things already....Toilet Grab
