Hello there!

I have a few questions for the experts here on this forum :)

About 3 months ago, i moved into a new townhouse that has shag carpets, the fibres are about 2/3 of an inch long. Since then, ive only vaccumned a few times (I know :( bad bad bad!). Now the carpets are all flat :(. I know I need to start vacuuming every few days -- I will start on it asap (and will remove the beater on my vacuum as I hear it is bad for shag carpets?). How can I unflatten the carpet? When I vacuum it, it flattens immediately once I start walking on it. I was told to look into a carpet rake and rake daily -- I am eyeing the grandi broom. Will that solve my problem?

Thank you! :)

I have the same problem...the shag looks great after I vacuum but that nice appearance  doesn't last very long.

Probably doesn't help either that my carpets haven't been professionally cleaned in quite some time (years). (I know :( bad bad bad!) ;)

Do you have a disco ball to complement your shag carpeting?...I do! Party Banana

When carpet fibers get dirty, they bind together. When clean they are fluffier.
