A couple of guys on the CleanFax BBS were discussing that red carpenters chalk was diffucult to get all the way out, most would remove but the last bit of red pigment would not. SO I nastied up some carpet pieces and let them set out in the damp for a couple of nights. Today I cleaned the chalk with Clean-N-Vac Cyclone and the other stains with Red Vanish.

Well we haven't as yet gotten Canadian MSDS, but we are sure selling a lot up there to our customers.

PadMan: I have one of those B & D steamers never thought till all my board reading to use it for spot removal. Or is that an OP STEAMER?

PadMan: On your finial pics I have a question. Where the stains were there appears to be some pile distortation compared to the outer edges. Were the stains put on an older piece of carpet that had a traffic area or was the distoration cause by the steamer. After using a steamer should the nap be set asap so as to reduce chances of pile distoration. PadMan not questioning the results. Just the finial appearance.

The distortion was caused by the customer using RESOLVE carpet cleaner on it before I got there, that of course was the most difficult area to get clean. I also snipped the fuzz off before I was done'

No, with our Red Vanish, the steamer accelerates the oxidization of the stain, it turns the red, CLEAR...
