Tried the Y it is a little more CFM, the biggest improvement was going to 2.5. A friend of mine put one on his Hydramaster 450(4.5 blower) and was told by the guy that sold him the valve that he was now closer to a 5.3 blower. So I was seeing if there was any truth in this.

No. Increased volumetric efficiency leads to increased lift numbers. It is the increased lift the Kunkle provides to increase cfm under LOAD> It is the point of greatest air resistance(wand on the carpet)that the increased lift from the KUNKLE allows more cfm to happen by increasing the pressure differential between the air outside the wand and the dynamic pressure inside the wandhead.

 Time to go back in the basement and see if this disk shape metal object will move around on resident frequencies sound waves..
