2" hose is best used only by those machines that can develope 200 cfms or more. Above this range, it is less restrictive to flow, and helps. Using it on equipment with less than this slows the airflow down and gives worse performance when the water soil mix falls out of the airstrem and puddles into the hose. Net effect is very wet carpets and all the problems that comes with it.

On hose runs longer than 150 feet I run 2 1/2" the rest of the way to the truck
makes a big difference IMO
bigger is better |

I would run 1.5" and 25' on your 2-2stage at all times for best dry times....
