Hello from R&D side! Joining to learn from your re

I’m excited to join the community! I’m part of the team at Anhui GIYO, where we design and manufacture commercial and industrial floor cleaning equipment (scrubbers and sweepers).

I want to be completely upfront: I am not here to pitch or sell anything.

My main goal in joining this forum is to listen, learn, and better understand the daily, practical challenges that professional cleaners and technicians face in the field. Out in the real world, things behave differently than they do in an engineering lab. Whether it’s a question of brush pressure longevity, squeegee performance on specific coatings, or how grease behaves on industrial slabs, your hands-on experience is incredibly valuable to me.

Welcome to the forum. It’s actually good to see someone from the manufacturing and R&D side interested in what happens once the equipment leaves the factory.

One area that manufacturers sometimes underestimate is serviceability. A floor machine can perform extremely well when new, but contractors and technicians also care about what happens two or five years later. How easily can pumps, motors, batteries, squeegee assemblies, switches, bearings and other wear components be accessed and replaced?

Parts availability is another big one. A machine being down for a week because of a relatively inexpensive component can cost an operator far more than the price of the part itself.

I’d also pay close attention to real-world squeegee performance, especially on uneven floors, transitions and different coatings. Lab testing on a perfectly flat surface doesn’t always reveal streaking, poor water pickup or premature blade wear that operators see every day.

Battery runtime is similar. Published runtime is useful, but contractors are usually more interested in realistic runtime under normal brush pressure, vacuum operation and actual working conditions.

If manufacturers genuinely listen to technicians and operators about service access, parts availability, durability and ease of maintenance, that feedback can be just as valuable as improving the headline performance specifications.
