Have any of you ever had one of those days when you showed up at the customers house and they thought thet knew everything there is to know about cleaning? Moved all the furniture to the wrong place.  Waited till you already had everything rolled up and ask you to clean the bathroom carpet. When you are making out the invoice. Did you Scotchgard the Diningroom.  Can it happen?  Does it happen?  Just my opinionGuitar

I mean at the end of that perfect job.  When all the after thoughts start ringing threw their heads. What do you do?  Setup again, say it's to late, I don't have time now?  What?  Just my opinionGuitar

Steamer it can't be that cut and dry all the time.  Doug is right what do you do at the end when your just about finished and packing up and the customer ask for just one more thing ......example

Lady that's a fine time to tell me now when you can see that I am finished and packed up ready to go. I believe we did a good job, thanks for the payment but I'm out of here. If you want anything more from us to do you will have to call the company and re-book us for another time.

Customer: Ya right sh*t head, get out of my house and I will never call you again.

How my acting Steamer

Thats the reason that I not on the truck every day.  I have very little patients and a shot temper when it comes to after thoughts.  So everyone likes to  keep me out off the front lines.  I am always in reserve just in case there is a problem. That is my specialty solving problems.  After over 20 years I sometimes think I am the problem . One of the advantages of a small area everyone already knows what to expect when I am on the truck a damm good job if done all at once. Not 2 or 3 mind changes and setups.Just my opinionGuitar

You DA Man in Goderich Doug!!!!!!!!!

It can be a problem when no body can do the job like you can. That way of thinking gets only you stressed out.

Everybody does things differently and in there own way. Time will tell and time will teach.

Can't you just hear them saying now when your gone, ya no one could do the job Doug could he was the best.  Mean while you yourself planted that very suggestion in there head.  Good work, long live Doug.

ADWA; You have your own interpratation of what I just said.  I never said I was the only one and wouldn't.  I just said what they can expect. When our company arrives. Myself  included. There is a difference.  Just my opinion.

Doug I am holding up a white flag.

You could be right I read into more than what you are saying. That's what happens here sometimes. People take things differently from what you really meant to say.

It's a Sunday morning Peace!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Steamer:   I have a lot of competion including Sears and many more companies  from as far away as Kitchner all trying to work here at city prices.  Here you have to spend more than 20 minutes at a house to make a couple of hundred dollars and run especially when it was suppose to be 2 rooms for $59.00.  Just my opinionGuitar

WHO CARES WHAT OTHERS ARE DOING....You charge enough I'm sure to survive...you're getting paid for the extra area...I would hope....

Just grab your hoses and head back into the house...whats the problem...lets not get off topic here

Mr. Steamer I have houses here where I am out over 200 ft maybe down a hill over a bank threw the bush.  Not a nice paved drive.  But a cottage on the side of a hill or a farm house with no drive.   If the whole job was worth $75.00 are you going to take 1/2 and hour to set up for $10.00?  I don't think so. How many gravel roads do you travel in a day? Just my opinionGuitar

I have had one of those days only with a customer.

Once in a while someone will come in and ask a lot of questions about certain stains they have and what to use to get them out.

After about 45min of explaining what is best to use they buy the opposite. They walk out the door and I just shake my head and say what was that all about.

I have it figured out that they come in with a product on their mind weather it works or not there buying it. They just want to hear what we have to say and I guess that proves I'm not a good sales person if I couldn't change their minds.

Or it could be that they are real stupid.  Either way it doesn't wreck my day.
