I have got a 2005 fully loaded savana...3500 series of course.... I want to install my old cleanco unit in it..after a sand blast and a paint job to the unit...

I need a shaft 64.9 inches

I got 3 prices

cleanco wants $3300 dollars for a new shaft plus $1500 for a engine kit if I want to keep the AC..taxes and shipping not included

cleanm*re wants $1500 for a new shaft with greasable bearings + 300 to install...says no kit is ness...

local machine shop wants $500 to 700 depending on the amount of torque I need ...I have to bring them the old shaft so they can test it..

so in this business if you don't shop around...you don't stay in business for long...

what a difference from a high of over 5 grand to as little as 500....

Shocked

Always pays! I applied for a commercial account at an auto parts store just to see if I could get one . It went through. Last week a water pump went out on my Savana, the dealer wanted 260.00 for the pump 240.00 for labor. I asked if I could provide my own parts. they said yes.

New water pump at parts store with wholesale account $62.00
savings $ 198.00 .

SHOP AROUND and get an account set up at a parts store.
It doesn't cost you a dime! and saves big bucks ....

I'm not willing to buy a new unit..... the truck is not for me....my brother may or may not be using it....

The cleanco unit hasn't been that much trouble...but the truck is a diseaster.

I don't mind a 300 to 400 dollar payment a month...but a new truck and unit will run 1200 to 1500...

don't need that stress..

plus I can fix and unit problems in a flash...but truck problems are too hard
