By the time gas reaches $1.30/litre by around November Doug, you will be wanting one to run too.

Pump up the volume:: then either get a pump in or a 100 gallon tank and a 100 gallon waste tank or pumpout and a 3.5 gpm pump a couple of 220 volt cables to plug in and don't forget the #4 blower and all smaller than bread box?? Must be SGK's new porty?

seems the same to me... I think my ninja pumps out 500 psi just fine... it's the suction that sucks |

"FLOW" is the answer as Ken allutted to. There is an electric pump (for ex.) that has 1,000 psi at such a low flow rate that one could put it to their face and only a very little mist would be produced. One the other hand, a 350 psi pump with greater flow rates would barrel out the nozzle like crazy! It takes alot of electrical energy to produce "Flow" rates at higher pressures (blowing circuits) unlike a gasoline engine at the same pressure producing greater flow rates. Conclusion: We actually clean with higher flow rate more than with pressures (in theory) Regarding the pressure drop in TM's running longer hoses: It is not that much really since the internal hoses are smooth bore. 400 psi is the same nomatter what produces it. The difference may be in pumping volume. A pump that has a flow volume of 3 gpm can more readily main a higher flow under high flow conditions than say a Hi-Pro pump that has a 1.25 gpm rating. Until you pull the trigger the pressure reads the same. After, the 3 gpm will maintain 350 of that pressure with the wand spraying the solution down, while the Hypro will be only at 250 or so, because it's capacity will not allow it to put out the 1.5 gpm that the # 6 jet is able to flow. Thus pressure falls.
On the other hand, if both machines were equipped with 3 gpm pumps, the portable would deliver the greater presure to the carpet. That is because the TM would have greater line loss with 100 ft of hose connected, than the portable with it's much shorter 25 ft would. |

depends on the porty
I tried out a 500psi Ninja
cranked up the psi to 500 and I'd say it seemed like half of what I'd get with my TM |
