I interviewed a carpet cleaning tech one day for a cleaning position. I was impressed with him and offered him $12.00 per hour for the first six months and $15.00 for the next six months with the possibility of reaching $20.00 per hour within two years.
I asked him when he would be ready to start. He said "In about two years".

Sounds about right to me!
We offer $20.00 for the first 3 months, than $15.00 for the next 3 months, than once fully trained we pay $12.00 an hour
