Have a mobile auto detail business and just purchased a century 400 hot water extractor. I ordered it with a crevice tool and another small wand. I also do large recreational vehicle and would like to buy a longer wand for larger areas. Looking for suggestions on what wand to purchase? Opions and suggestions appreciated. THANKS IN ADVANCE ONE WAXMAN |

You can purchase many approx. 3 ft. 9 inch wide stair tools for your cleaning operation or even a smaller width. Have you looked into a Stealth Dry Tool? It puts the water exactly where you want it and never dangerously oversprays or drips. This tool is a dream compared to an external style jet tool and drying the upholstery much faster. |

If it were myself, I would just call The Carpetologist , make a deal, and be done with it. Then, both you and your business will be much further ahead----------------and alot happier. Then, you can concentrate on other goals much quicker.
Good luck and good fortune; Ed Valentine cross-american corp. |

my wife has been an upholsterer for 19 years and she has heard horror stories from customers who have had their furniture cleaned. She said it all depends on the type of fabric.
What are you thoughts? Tim |

I think the upholsterers should use a durable, cleanable fabric when they are covering the furniture. This would make our job a lot easier

furniture takes time to clean....and alot of guys are unwilling to spend time cleaning it properly...
agitation is the key...with a terry cloth and good dwell time...so you don't have to soak it to get it clean....
I clean everything and anything...you just have to be aware... does it have woodtrim....metal buttons.....how much can I agitate without distorting...is it color fast

100% cotton white couch and loveseat with loose cushions. 3.5 hours $375.00 and I undercharged by $100.

High end waterfront property. There was a coffee stain and dog grease on it too. I amazed myself it came out first class. 1 hour of vacuuming alone. I used esteam upholstery prespray and used 2part hydrogen peroxide and some citrus for spotting. Used ultrarealease acid rinse. Had 4 air kings on them speed drying.
I use one of those rubbermaid workmate fold up plastic tables from home depot for the cushions. It works real well. ![]() ![]() |

I think thst is BS. Most customers don't know anything about fabrics. I think it is up to the upholster to find out what the piece of furniture is being used for where it is located in the home if there are kids and pets. Then it is up to them to reccommend what fabric they should use to cover the piece of furniture. Unless they have no ethics then they reccommomend what they make the most profit off of? |

That's exactly right. The fabric manufacturers and retailers should know their products and recommend to consumers accordingly. But they don't
