I sent Lisa a private message @ 2:46 she opened it immediately then she ran away and got off line. I guess she had no answer to solve the problem.......too bad with 16 years experience with all the pro's as teachers I really thought she would educate us here......maybe she went to look up the answer...........let's wait a little longer Nightrider |

Naw, just answerin you and taking care of some responsibilities off the computer. IF the rug is truly a synthetic, then determine the fiber, the type and level of soiling and if there are any stubborn stains (dye stains, urine etc...), composition of the backing and stability of the dyes...get back to me with that info and I'll go from there. Or if he is unsure he can simply sub it out to a local rug cleaner. It is always good to have experts to hand something off to that you are unsure of, especially if they will be so kind as to let you learn their craft. Most are more than willing to share their knowledge. Take care, Lisa |

sub it out? why waste time doing that now you have to pay somebody else and perhaps split the profit. all that for one dumb rug? tell the lady to go to Home Depot, rent a machine and do it herself....good grief!

JSTUPID: Thanks for the pm. You could have posted it here. I know just how hard some people have to work to be an A$$HOLE. But I know you are an exception and it comes natural.

jcooper...listen to Lisa...again, you should take a cleaning course...then you will know what fibers you are dealing with and what chemicals to use cleaning them...you will also learn how to idenify fibers by burn testing or other methods...on most cheap area rugs, you should find a label on the back side that will tell you what the fiber is...

Check for colorfastness with a lower pH chem. If it bleeds i wouldn't clean it. . . inferior dyes cause this. . you can check fiber type with a burn test like Rick/Magic stated or a chemical test. . .
