CCW for carpet cleaners.

I was recently looking over Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) laws for my state. I'm not seriously considering this, but it occurred to me that a carpet cleaner could probably make a case for it as a 1) business owner; 2) cash business (often enough); and 3) mobile business that at times enters sketchy neighborhoods. I don't blame anyone who wishes to be private about this, since it's kind of a touchy subject. But for those who don't mind sharing . . . does anyone carry a weapon in their van? Has anyone used their business as a way to obtain the permit? Where I live in California, it wouldn't be worth the trouble unless I wanted to be a 2nd Amendment warrior. Besides, I'm not experienced enough for it to be a good idea. Thoughts?

nightrider, you're making me wish I did not convert all my solution hoses to 1/4" quick connects. Those 3/8" whoppers would take down a bull.

That's real funny that happened to you, cause back in the early 90's a friend of mind must have run into the same guy you did, except when my friend told him to get a job after being harassed for money, the guy walked out of the restaurant quietly then stole his truck, just about ripped his arm off and the wand and hose broke the storefront window. The wand and some hose was found tucked away under a parked car, and the carpet truck was found 2 years later as the thief was cleaning a restaurant carpet and a neighbour called police to complain about the noise.

I think my Prochem stair wand would serve pretty well. I've never even come close to having an issue though. 

Grutzy.....just make sure that you don't wack yourself in the head, I was winding up a 15 foot section on my arm once ( I say once because I never did it again ) and I got the female brass quick connect right in the nuts, not hard either, but just hard enough to watch how I sat in the truck as I drove home.
